My grandmother, on my mother’s side, was well known for her paintings of the American Indians. Her paintings are in the Smithsonian museum, the Holter and the Hockaday Museums in Montana and her murals are in post offices around the Unted States. She is better known as the "Daughter of Montana" and by her given Indian name, “Netchitaki,” an adopted member of the Blackfoot NationPaul Sterling Hoag Architect 1913-2003
My father studied under the architect, Richard Neutra and became a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He was a prolific writer and made regular submissions to L.A. Magazine. He also wrote a novel on the musician Antonio Vivaldi. An archive of his work exists in the Architecture & Design Collection (ADC) University Art Museum, University of California, Santa Barbara, At this time I don’t have a website to show his architectural work, but I hope to do so soon, This link is to an obituary in The Seattle Times.Betty Lochrie Hoag McGlynn Art Historian 1914-2000
My mother, Betty Hoag McGlynn was a prominent art historian for the Monterey, California and Carmel area. She wrote numerous articles and books and was married to the son of the early California artist Thomas McGlynn. Her archives are in the Monterey Museum and the Smithsonian. I plan to have a website on her work in the near future. This link is to an obituary on her.
